Tea Time For Military Moms and Daughters Meets Need

More than 100 moms and young daughters celebrate their relationship.

SAN DIEGO (Lemon Grove), Calif. (March, 2011)  Finger sandwiches, cream puffs and éclairs are on the menu for 120 military women and their daughters at the Mother-Daughter English Tea set for Thursday, April 5 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Monte Vista Village.

“The tea was created in an effort to meet the need for events honoring military women,” said Maria Shetler, executive director of Monte Vista Village.

The event honors enlisted active duty women or spouses and their daughters with a celebration of food, gifts and manicures provided by Bellus Academy of El Cajon.

“This is our way of saying thank you to our men and women in uniform and their families,” Shetler said.

Residents of Monte Vista Village will also be in attendance to express their appreciation to local military families.
